We are very pleased that we are now able to offer repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) for depression. rTMS therapies are NICE-approved for this condition and are suitable for a wide range of patients. It is an effective alternative for those who either cannot tolerate or do not wish to take drugs for this condition.

After an assessment by one of our psychiatrists, you will be treated by our experienced rTMS therapist. Treatment consists of a 19-minute session every working day. A typical course of therapy last 4-6 weeks. You will be re-assessed after the first 2 weeks and 2 weekly thereafter.

rTMS therapies are virtually pain-free and can be taken in combination with most medications. There are virtually no side effects other than a mild headache for a short while afterwards and perhaps some light-headedness. If your condition allows you to drive, we suggest stopping for a coffee at Perkys next door before driving.

Our repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy for depression is performed by Dr Allen is covered by Aviva. All claims must be authorised by the Aviva Claims Department prior to treatment.
